Not a library but a youth center/daycare center, homeless shelter, mental health center all in one. No Discipline here what so ever, ungrateful kids do whatever they wantlibrarians/security allow it

It's always great' other than some of the kids need to be respectful.

Horrible experience!!! Children running around, playing music without head phones. Loud conversation, cursing, yelling and unsupervised. Horrible!! And the librarians are ignoring it all, one with earplugs in his ears the others are just sitting at the front desk.!! Horrible!!!

What a beautiful space to house thousands of books! I'm usually popping by on my way to or from somewhere, so I haven't had time to browse lately. Staff is always friendly. The last time I was here, I only got through two bookshelves as I get caught up in reading! They have incredible printed resources here! I really like that there are usually no/short lines. I do miss having a better DVD selection "in-store." When using the website, though, I can find almost anything I'm in search of. When I can't, I remind myself that it's a free resource and get over it! :) The next time you're looking for something to do, get lost in the stacks and learn something new.

Great experience. This library is a space that serves the Eastside community in many ways. The Eastside is a place with a long history, in it you have affluent folk who have lived there their entire lives and you also have federally assisted housing. What makes this library so special is that it is home to all of the bright and not so bright parts of the Eastside of Oklahoma City. This library is a place for learning and education for underserved youth throughout the community. The staff at this library serve as more than just your ordinary librarians, but rather as caretakers for the youth whose parents work long and tiresome days. The library is aftercare and daycare for some of the children. Turning its back on these kids would be counter to the vision of Mr. Ralph Ellison. Yes, sometimes they can be rather loud, but I would much rather deal with their occasional child-like behavior in a library than them turning to alternative means. This library is just what the community needs and does a superb job with handling the many needs of the community.
