Junior's is a classic in OKC. If you want great fried chicken or Syrian salad or the best Caesar salad you'll ever eat and made at your table, you're in the right place!
Five of us ate lunch at Junior's on Tuesday. The service was excellent and the food that we ordered was very good. $12 for four shrimp on their shrimp cocktail was a little pricey even though they were large. The cocktail sauce was very tasty and had the right amount of horse radish for my taste. Our waiter was very courteous and attentive and I would probably return for lunch someday just because of him. It has been a while since I have eaten at Junior's but used to frequent there often. I remembered the Caesar Salad being something to die for but I guess my tastes have changed. It didn't taste like I remembered. There are two things I do want to complain about. One of the water glasses had a big chip in it and the lemon wedges looked like they had been sliced several days ago. They were dried out looking and should have been thrown out. There is no excuse for either of those happening in a restaurant of this caliber.
I have been a patron of this iconic dining establishment since 1974 when i moved to Oklahoma from New York and i haven't had a bad meal there ever! My meals always starts with their world famous Caesar Salad prepared table-side and ends with their "to die for" Brandy Ice! Everything else i eat in between have been consistently great!
I've always had a good experience here and the food and music is great. Yesterday was the final time I'll refer others here or visit. I was appalled. I sat at a table and even those who tipped the bartender over 50% of their bill were treated oddly and it must be due to skin color because the people were very kind and did not do anything wrong. Then the bartender Sarah basically kept acting like they were not good enough to be there or that they can't handle a shot they were paying for. Yet she took the tip and it was more than many tip. I did not like how she asked women customers if they wanted to be a freeloader guy a drink when they offered to buy a woman ONE drink. The waitress rung up a $40 bottle of wine to take care of the guy instead. She should've checked with the ones purchasing but it could have been skin color or so because I've worked at many restaurants and that is not okay to do. Ever. Also she asked if certain people were driving so she could cut them off yet not those who drank far more. Interesting. Humiliating and appalling.
