Loved all of the great cocktails! Wonderfully balanced, not cloyingly sweet like I feared. Craig (wait staff) detailed ingredients and suggested superb ones according to our preferred tastes. His own seasonal creation, Peacekeeper, was absolutely magnificent to end my meal, and evening.
Great place if a bit small, but the size is part of it's charm. The food is good, reasonable smaller beer selection, full bar. Worth a stop in.
Crab toast was soggy, beef stroganoff tasted like dog food. The best part of the meal were the French fries (which were actually very good, but for a price near $15, I would expect the entree to be good as well. It felt like $15 fries with a burger) and a Moscow mule that tasted like chewing a ginger root
Food was great, especially the pork and beans. Really!! Had the cocktail weiners, simple and tasty. Steak frites was solid good eats, with house made Bearnaise sauce (although I would have loved even more tarragon).
R&J’s is drastically understaffed and poorly manned. Waiters mindlessly wandered around not knowing who to give the food too. Having to flag down waiters for foid that is horrifyingly terrible results in s bad vibe.
Regardless, will definitely return!
Great place to eat or just get drinks. They have prosecco & some other wines on tap, a nice drink section otherwise, very capable bar staff, and a menu that's tasty top to bottom. I can't recommend the Pork & Beans enough (wild boar shank with delicious beans).
Another downer was the LOUD perfume worn by an obvious regular. Wouldn't have minded except that she moved from one side of the bar to right behind us ... to use a cell phone. We had to move. I don't blame the establishment; just very annoying.
The only reason I scored R&J a 4 out of 5 stars is that I'd like to have a written description of the cocktails to help choose easier. Especially with the seasonal menu.
Expensive. And the food isn't even that good... It was a bit disappointing.
