(Long Story, but might as well tell)
Shop there for fresh meats and veggies. They cut their meat fresh there daily. Veggies are always fresh. Prices are reasonable. At there deli area they have good sandwiches and fresh baked bread and huge fresh made crossaints. They also carry Asian dishes and cookware.
Only Asian store who plays Spanish music (Loudly). One of the Spanish guy at the wet market (back) was very rude to us. I could have left it alone, but he embarrassed me by the way he talked to me. I hope this will reach the management of this place.
Good prices, unique foods that you won't find in other stores. The place seems very dirty inside and smells very strongly of fish. Would help too if they had signs or translation cards for items not in English. Good luck asking for help while your there...
Imagine an Asian Sam's...everything from live fish to dozens, maybe hundreds, of kinds of noodles. Sauces from all across Asia and practical plastic dishware in traditional Asian motifs. I get most of my kitchen ware from them, from bowls to collanders to wide slotted scoops for fishing things out of the pot. And the statuary! If you've strained a muscle or suffer from chronic pain, there is liniment. I can't tell you its name, though, 'cause then you would all buy it and there would be none left. =)
They sell a lot more than just Chinese food/items here. They have an aisle or two dedicated to international foods that may be hard to find in Oklahoma. One thing that I come here for is Matooks Calypso Sauce. It is yummy!
So this one guy at the back (wet market area) was very rude to me and my mother. First, we asked for a sack to put the fish in. He just looked at us like we're a couple dumb old Asians, and then he finally pointed where the sack was and made the impression that we were wasting his time. Well, no wonder we could not find the sacks because it was well hidden in the back of the other stuff. So we proceed, my mom bought two types of fish, sack them, and put them in the cart. Then she asked for ice, and the man gave her a small bag of ice. Then after a few minutes, I've decided to purchase fish FOR MYSELF, not for my mama, but for myself. So I asked for a bag of ice FOR MY FISH. This same man was angry and said in a loud voice, "NO NO, YOU HAVE ICE, SMALL BAG ONLY, NO!". At the same time, he was pointing at my mama. So the people around us were looking at me and my mama strangely. I was holding myself back and not to say anything back to him. Instead, I've explained why I need another small bag of ice and told him IT'S FOR MY FISH. He then again angrily said, "NO NO SMALL BAG ONLY, JUST ONE!" So I walked away, and when I got to the front, I looked for the manager and told him what happened. He apologizes for the action of the man and he said he would talk to him, but who knows if he will or not. Overall experience was bad because they have POOR CUSTOMER CARE!
