This is one of those rare great weightlifting gyms. If you lift weights and Planet Fitness doesn't have what you want...go here. It's a dream gym for serious weight lifters. Is the equipment brand new...no, does it all match...no, is some of it beat up...yep, aesthetics...eh. If that bothers you, then my opinion is your priorities are not around fitness. I have been lifting for almost 20 years, I am not a power lifter or a bodybuilder, I just enjoy it. This gym has beyond everything a lifter could need. I stopped in while passing through OKC and am glad I did. For those of you who are local here, enjoy it, you can't find many like this.
When this gym was only Lighthouse, it was great. Weight Room caters to steroids users. The spa is dirty about 70 % of the time. The steam room smells like ass. The therapy pool is dirty and the ceiling is flaking off some sort of rubbish paint into the pool. This is the ultimate rubbish gym in OKC. The manager (some fake tanned woman who looks like a man) will talk to you like you are a steroid user or one of "its" bros. Don't piss "it" off, "it" will roll something out from underneath and make the sky go dark.
Quality gym with a great support staff.
People at this gym cannot rerack weight correctly. Weight plates are all over the place. A whole bunch of preworkout-supplement junkies who cannot grow muscles naturally. This a roid paradise.
Just finished my work out at the new and improved Weight Room. Great atmosphere to listen to an audiobook while working out. This time "The Journey of the Bell" a great listen
The Weight Room is not your typical, franchised gym...which is exactly why I love it! In fact, I'm a second generation member! Regardless of fitness level, you'll feel comfortable at this gym because everyone is simply striving for the same thing. In the 1.5+ years that I have been a member, I've never felt uncomfortable or out of place and, as a bonus, management goes out of their way to be helpful. They offer excellent rates (especially if you sign up as a couple), tanning, and childcare. By far, my favorite gym! Highly recommended.
