Great theatre. Recently updated. Cleaner than before and movie r more current. U can c the same movies for $2 that would normally cost u $6.50 or more. Plus they always have $1 hotdogs ☺
Just moved here from Tx. Had to get me some me time so I treated myself to a movie. Seen 47 meters down. it was good and the price is what I can afford being on disability. The drinks is high little over double the movie price. Was hot the a/c wasn't working. I was having breathing problems so missed part the movie which sucked.
We attended a Sunday afternoon showing of the film, "Kidnap", with Halle Berry. The tickets ($1.62 with tax) are very reasonably priced for a discount theater. The concessions are a little on the expensive side, but I was very impressed with the upgrades that AMC has done on the chairs. Back when it was being run by Starplex Cinemas, this theater had these really uncomfortable chairs that didn't rock back and forth and didn't have any kind of material on them. It was basically like sitting in a stiff dining room chair. But, AMC upgraded the chairs to these comfortable rocking chairs with a nice, soft red material. I used to dislike going here, specifically for the chairs, but I will be more likely to come back now that they've fixed the chair problem.
Tried to see the new 2d Arthur movie today a paying a total of $60 for tickets and snacks. It was supposed to be a 2d showing but it was so blurry in certain scenes it had to be 3d. Then about forty minutes into the movie it quit working completely. Sat there for about 30 minutes while they tried fixing it then we were give ten dollars worth of passes to come back another time. Not worth it. Rip off.
Last couple experiences at this theater haven't been very great. Our movie stopped working about 45 minutes into the film. Screen was completely black but the sound was still going. I went to tell the staff and they had to go find the manager to try and restart the film projector. After they finally tracked her down, restarted the movie and thought the problem was resolved, black screen once again at the same scene. Enough was enough and we were all provided with movie passes and reimbursed money spent on concessions. I guess a bulb went out in the projector and it had to be repaired. The staff was very kind about the situation. A few months later we tried to watch Transformers here and the AC inside the theater was out completely. It was about 100 degrees outside and maybe 95 in the theater. They put 2 small box fans in the back to allow some air circulation. When we purchased our tickets no one explained to us this situation. It was so uncomfortably hot and stuffy it was difficult to breathe. We had to move to the very back and sit directly next to one of the fans and it was so loud we couldn't even hear the audio for the film. I know unanticipated things happen but they should not have been selling tickets and expecting movie goers to sit through that. ESPECIALLY without warning them first! Unfortunately I don't think we'll give this place another chance.
My only complaint was that the auditorium (#6) was a little on the warmer side (it's one of their smallest auditoriums), but it wasn't unbearably hot. So, all in all, this experience was a pleasant surprise, compared to before AMC took over. It's also a nice theater to visit if you don't want to break your wallet and if you want to avoid crowds (especially, if you see a movie during the week, since it can be crowded on the weekends, depending on what film you see).
