As for her weight, there seems to be a discrepancy in that and the other scale had her at almost 4 lbs. more than yours. Her blood work has come back as normal and no indication of a heart murmur from the daytime vet. Her incision is healing nicely, so I'm glad I got her the proper care she needed the next morning.
The office staff and vet techs are, without exception, kind and caring, and we feel that we are always well informed about the medical status of our animals.
The post where all of these medical comments were made included misinformation about her age and indicated she had a number of other issues that were not disclosed or substantiated by the other vet. Yes I did accept the refund offered to me because nothing had been done to adequately secure her bandage and the issue wasn't addressed. The reply that was given to me was inappropriate and had it been a human and not a K9, would have violated HIPPA privacy laws.
It's very hard to lose a fur-baby. The staff at Animal Emergency Center was compassionate and very helpful. They explained everything they were going to do and what costs may be involved. They reviewed the ex-rays with me and what efforts could be done. When all of their attempts to help couldn't stop her suffering, they gave me the time and space to let me make one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. They made the transition more bearable. They gave me options available for cremation. They sent me a condolence card with her paw print in it. I would recommend their services to anyone. A lot of people have to realize, this clinic is for emergency services, and like any emergency room, some life-saving measures may be required and yes, can cost more. But what is more important, money, or the life of your loving companion? Thank you for your help and kindness.
What's more, this clinic is very reasonably priced, which, especially as a non-profit organization, we greatly appreciate.
Had a terrible experience here. :-( I came in with an injury to my dog and they focused on other things outside of the injury instead like her weight. The dressing they applied at $55 didn't adequately cover her leg injury and within 2 hours she was bleeding everywhere again. My bathroom floor looks like a crime scene. I was told that her injury was not deemed a "medical emergency" by the attending physician. I was told that to remove what I was asking to remove would "step on the toes of daytime vets." Are you kidding? I have an injured fur baby, remove the issue! I wasted $130 going here. Every other time I've had to seek emergency care here has been decent, but last night was awful. This injury should have been addressed and not just "dressed." The dog didn't even reopen it herself, it just came open because the injury wasn't even properly covered. Now I get the pleasure of spending even more money to have this done correctly. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend.
My dog is not 14, she's 9. The reply I received included information that was never provided to me during the exam. Heart murmur? She has now undergone the SKIN TAG removal surgery for the growth on her leg. She was great through the anesthesia. The other vet was shocked it hadn't been taken off considering the blood loss.
I am running a local animal rescue and we have been taking our fosterlings to see Dr. Hart and his outstanding and experienced team for about a year now.
While on an evening walk, without warning, my dog was bitten by a meandering dog. I am very happy I took my dog to Animal Emergency Center--everyone there was skilled, dedicated, focused, and caring. After treatment my dog received a cone-of-shame that was soft and could be inverted yet still protect the affected area. He now looks like the nosecone of a rocket rather then a flower but can see where he is going...
I appreciate the gesture of the refund, but not the tone or the inaccuracy of the response given to me. I'm just glad my dog is now on the mend.
I have taken my Doberman Pinscher to this Emergency Vet, ONLY when I know something is wrong with my dog, and her primary vet is closed. The first time, it was a dog bite, the second time, worms. This time, she has gums as white as a stick of chalk and was showing signs of diabetes or anemia. She was lethargic and not herself. I called the clinic and of course, they have to have the initial $85 just to see my dog. Which is fine, but the problem was that I wouldn't have the rest of the money for any tests or additional care she might need for 2 more days. Your dog will not be seen or saved, if you don't have money up front. I understand there are people who will leave and never pay their vet bill. But, I've been here twice, so I don't understand why they wouldn't have a written agreement that I give them all of the money I have now and pay the rest in 2 days when I get paid. The severity of my dog's symptoms were nothing to put off for 2 days. They would let your pet die before they would just have a heart and help your animal. These people care about money only. They put dogs down there constantly because people can't afford the surgeries or work that needs to be done to save the animal. If you take your dog here, you will be over charged, treated like you and your pet are not worth their time, they might even forget your in a room waiting to be seen. With that said, I hope every so called "veterinarian" who works there never has to be in a situation that they have put so many of us in. I hope all of your pets live long and healthy lives and run away from you to an even better home. You all don't deserve the happiness a pet brings, since you have taken it away from too many people.
No matter what day or night time, we have received nothing but excellent service and never had to wait longer than 30 minutes to speak with one of the veterinarians on staff.
