Was looking specific vehicle to rent for the weekend. A jeep renegade -nothing fancy but apparently popular at least to rent. I contacted numerous rental companies and enterprise was the most helpful in going out of their way attempting to find one available. After several calls throughout the morning and not having any available I was ready to give in. I got a call back from the service desk saying one was being returned as we spoke. In the 30 minutes it took me to get to the airport enterprise cleaned the inside and out and had the car waiting for me. Exceptional customer service! They also didn't charge me astronomically high prices or upcharge for last minute rentals. Will be a returning customer.
Vehicle was absolutely filthy. The window was so dirty on the inside I had to pull over and clean it to drive safely. The dash was covered in dust and grime.
Ask costs up front. Booked rental reservation online, pleased with the price, checked in at the front desk, all was well, but when I went to go actually pickup the vehicle, that's when they asked about additional insurance. Increased the cost by almost $150 higher than what I anticipated at reservation. At that point, I had no other option than to confirm because I was out of time.
Check in was quick and friendly. Everyone was in a helpful and happy disposition. When I got into the car, I did notice all the extras added on to the basic fee reserved online and that shocked me. But the agent worked with me, patiently, with no pressure to include the optional extras. She made it very clear that what ever I choose, it is my decision. I don't always process decisions quickly, so it would have helped to know the optional fees before getting to the vehicle.
I was told the car's tank was full, but when i checked it while driving a few minutes later, the gauge was about 3 needle-widths below empty. Later, when I had to gas up, the needle moved to 3 needle-widths ABOVE the full line. That's a lot of gas, and this irritated me a lot. I hate complaining though, so I just thought I won't rent from them again. But i changed my mind and wrote them about this discrepancy. They refunded me appropriately and then some! I will rent from them again because they handled my complaint fast and generously.
It would be great to know the full cost at the reservation. Front desk should have at least said something as well.
That being said, the vehicle was fine, worked well, just paid way too much for it.
