I rented a car from thrifty for one day for $45. Getting the car took about 10 minutes and returning it took about the same time. People that I talked to were friendly and polite and car was decent.
DO NOT RENT FROM DOLLAR / THRIFTY! We picked up a car from Mexico City and the front wheel was already badly damaged at pickup. We ended up with a puncture on the highway - this could have been VERY DANGEROUS! Dollar / Thrifty still tried to charge us for the damage to the wheel even though we had photos when we pick up the car. They are very DISHONEST and put money before safety. AVOID THIS COMPANY.
We can in late and they did wait for us which is a big plus. We had booked the car on line and saw nothing about the limitation to the unlimited miles. She told us we could only drive to states that touch ok. There were no other car rental places opened so we good no choice except to take the car and then bring it back on Sunday. We were planning on having it eight days. Had to take there hours out of it vacation to rent a car from someone else. Awful policy made a terrible experience.
The clerk was very nice and made our stressful day go much more smoothly. Great customer service here.
Dollar / Thrifty US did nothing to help us.
I rented last week and still don't have a receipt. Nobody at the lot when I returned and so went to the inside desk - but there was a line that would take an hour. Just gave them the keys. Waited for days for the receipt but nothing in email or mail. They are apparently independently owned and so the corporate billing department was no help. Also, when they initially gave me the car they said "no damage on it" but had several dents, as well as a used tooth pick and wrapper inside.
